JAMBU HAAT (24th January 2024)
One of the key highlights of the event was a Dogri Turban Tying Competition where participants demonstrated their skills in adorning the traditional Dogri turban. This not only celebrated the cultural heritage of the region but also provided a platform for students and members of the civil society to showcase their talents. The competition was judged by Sh Chhankar Singh Slathia, Sh. Radhir Singh Raipuria and Mr. Manish Singh Jamwal. The first prize was won by Navdeep Singh, the second prize was won by Sumriti Slathia and the third prize was bagged by Atul Singh Rakhwal
In addition to the competition, the event featured a variety of food stalls offering local delicacies, allowing attendees to savor the diverse flavors of the region. The students and alumni of University of Jammu actively participated in setting up these stalls, further enhancing their entrepreneurial skills.
The exhibition of local handicrafts added an artistic touch to the event, showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of the region. This not only promoted the cultural heritage but also provided a market for the students and alumni to display and sell their products, encouraging entrepreneurship.
