JU Law School Hosts Lecture on the Role of Youth in Nation Building

The Law School, University of Jammu held an engaging expert lecture and interactive session titled "Role of Youth in Nation Building." The session featured Mr. Nitin Hangloo, District Youth Officer for District Jammu, representing the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. Mr. Hangloo provided an in-depth overview of the Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) initiative, which aims to foster experiential learning, volunteerism, and community transformation among young people.

During his talk, he highlighted several successful collaborations between NYKS and local government departments, including the Transport, Traffic Police, and Health departments. These initiatives aim to engage youth in meaningful volunteer activities that contribute to community welfare. Mr. Hangloo stressed upon the critical role of law students as "social engineers" in promoting constitutional values and encouraging their peers to participate in nation-building efforts. He called for an increased focus on fundamental duties and the need for youth to become informed and responsible citizens.

The session commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Seema Rohmetra, Director, The Law School, who emphasized the significance of youth engagement in national development. Faculty member Dr. Nitan Sharma coordinated the event, ensuring an interactive environment.

Students actively participated by posing questions about various opportunities available through NYKS initiatives. Mr. Hangloo provided comprehensive answers, addressing their queries about volunteer programs and leadership training.The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Kasak Gupta, acknowledging the insights shared and the importance of youth involvement in shaping the nation's future.
