The Centre for Women’s Studies, University of Jammu in collaboration with Government College of Education, Jammu and Rotary Club Jammu Elite organized a workshop today on 5^th March, 2024 on the theme: “Breaking the Barrier: Women Empowerment” International Workshop held at GCOE, Jammu. The workshop focused on empowering women, addressing gender equality, and celebrating the achievements of women in various fields. The program was held under the guidance of Prof. Savita Nayyar, Director, Centre for Women’s Studies and Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Principal, GCE, Jammu whose leadership and vision played a pivotal role in shaping the event.

The One-Day International Workshop featured distinguished resource persons, including Dr. Marcia Jane (senior Lecturer Department of Language Study, University Teknologi Mara (UITM) Perlis Branch campus Malaysia, Prof.(Dr.) Savita Nayyar (Professor of Law and Director, Centre for Women’s Studies, JU,  Prof. Monika Chadda (Department of English, Chair person, Campus Cultural Committee, University of Jammu), Ms. Mandeep Kaur (Inspector, J&K Police), Ms. Anuradha Thakur (Deputy Secretary, JKAS Mission Youth), Dr. Sushma Rani (Principal, SCERT Jammu), Ms. Ruchika Gupta (Chairperson, FICCI FLO JKL, Jammu).The event served as a vital platform for discussions on number of barriers and challenges which are required to be removed for women's empowerment, leadership, and gender equity. Reinforcing the commitment of the Government College of Education, Jammu and Centre for Women Studies JU to foster a more inclusive and progressive society.
