Institutional Digital Repository

Institutional Digital Repository was launched of Life Sciences (2015-2019) was launched by Prof. Naresh Padha, Dean Academic Affairs, in the Department of Library & Information Science on 2nd of December, 2021. The Research Project was designed and developed by Prof. Sangita Gupta, Head of the Department as model for Institutional Repository for Life Science based on DSpace software.

Prof. Sangita Gupta Chaired a technical session in National Conference on Revisiting Public Library Services in Current Scenario (NCRPLS-2019), held on 12-13 October 2019 at Department of Library & Information Science, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.

Prof. Sangita Gupta Chaired a session in '3rd DLA-SRFIS Summit 2019’ International Conference on 19-20th April 2019 at Conference Center, University of Delhi.

Miss Izna won fourth prize in Mehndi YOUTH FESTIVAL NORTH ZONE GNDU at Amritsar

B.Lib.I.Sc. student Swasti won first prize in Slogan Making competition in “Display your Talent 2019-20”, held at University of Jammu. Ms. Izna Won first prize in Mehandi competition, Rajni got second position in Painting and certificate of merit in Mehandi in the same event. Mr. Avdhan got silver in Football

Students of B.Lib.I.Sc. (Sheetal Sharma and Kimi Jamwal) participated in Rangoli competition in “Display your Talent 2016-17”, held at University of Jammu on 20th September, 2016.
Sheetal Sharma won Merit of Certificate  for Rangoli.

Deepika Jamwal and Ranvinder Kour participated in Role of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar in Shaping Modern India on April 12, 2016 at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium.

Our Students/Research Scholars (Shiv Kumar, BLIS student & Sunita Sharma, Research Scholar) are selected as Volunteers for Action Oriented Group/Task Force under Green Campus Task Force of University of Jammu in March 2016.

Sonali Sharma and Bandana Sharma participated in National Youth Parliament Competition in February 2016.
Sharvani Sharma, Sapna Devi, Nisha Kumari, Naveen Sharma, and Shiv Kumar participated as NSS Volunteers in Two days Workshop on Environment and Sustainable Development on February 9-10, 2016. 

Students  of M.Lib.I.Sc. (Bandana Sharma & Sonali Sharma) participated in Group Discussion on Topic “Does Junk Food Ban in Campus” held at Dean Student Welfare(DSW) on 19th Feb,2016

Students of M.Lib.I.Sc. (Amit Bali, Arun Sharma & Abheek) nominated to  attend One day Workshop sponsored by Red Cross Society held at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium  on March, 2016. The topic of the Workshop was “Youth as Agents of Behavioural Change (YABC)” The other students who attended the workshop are, Arti sharma & Sonali Sharma. 

Our Students participate in Inter Departmental Tournament every year. They participated in “Inter Departmental Cricket Tournament” held in March 2016.

Students from B.Lib.I.Sc and M.lib.I.Sc  participated in Mime and Play events organized by Department of Students Welfare (Display your talent) University of Jammu, Jammu and won Team Trophy (1st  Prize), in mime competition held on 6th  October 2012. 

Students also participated in “Photography Workshop” held from 16th January to 22nd January 2012 at Seminar Hall, Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu and also participated in “Photography Exhibition” held from 31st January to 29th Feb 2012 at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, Jammu.

M.Lib.I.Sc. and B.Lib.I.Sc. Students of our department participated in “Inter Departmental Cricket Tournament” held in the month of March-April 2012 Organized by Department of Physical Education, University of Jammu. 

A number of students from B.Lib.I.Sc participated in Poetry, Essay-Writing, Quiz, Rangoli, Photography, Short -Story Writing and Mime events organized by Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, Jammu and won Team Trophy (2nd Prize), in mime comp etition held on 13th Oct 2011.

Following students of M.Lib.I.Sc. were sponsored by Developing Library Network (DELNET)  to attend the 2ndInternational Libraries Conference on “Inspiring and Repositioning Public Libraries: Technology, Content and Services” and  Libraries Post- Conference Workshop on “DELNET Resources and Open Source Software for Public Libraries” jointly organized by NASSCOM Foundation & DELNET on March 7-9, 2016 at New Delhi.
