Successful Completion of Industrial visit to Chandigarh organised by ICccR & HRM, JU for the students of MBA (IB)

The department of International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu is pleased to announce the successful completion of an enriching industrial visit to Chandigarh organised for the students of MBA (IB) semester I and semester III. The industrial visit took place from November 13, 2024 to November 14, 2024. During the visit the students visited corporate offices and manufacturing units of leading companies namely SML Isuzu Ltd., Ropar, Chandigarh; Verka Chandigarh Dairy, Industrial Area-1, Chandigarh; Knitwell India Pvt. Ltd., Derabassi and Bubber Industries Pvt. Ltd. Panchkula as part of this visit. The trip aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world business practices, providing students with valuable insights into the working of top-tier organizations.

Day 1: Visit to SML Isuzu Ltd. and Verka Chandigarh Dairy

   

The first day began with a visit to SML Isuzu Ltd., located in Chandigarh, a leading manufacturer of commercial vehicles in India. The group was welcomed by the company’s senior management team, who guided them through the production facility. Participants witnessed the latest advancements in vehicle manufacturing, from assembly lines to quality control processes, and learned about SML Isuzu’s commitment to sustainability and technological innovation. The students were able to interact with industry experts and ask questions about the evolving automobile industry.

The second leg of the day took the group to Verka Chandigarh Dairy, a major supplier of dairy products in the region. The participants toured the state-of-the-art facility, learning about the entire dairy production process, from raw milk collection to packaging and distribution. The visit highlighted the importance of quality control, hygiene standards, and supply chain management in the food and beverage industry. The students were also given insights into sustainable farming practices and dairy production technologies.

 

Day 2: Knitwell India Pvt. Ltd. and Bubber Industries Pvt. Ltd.

     
 

The second day of the visit commenced with a tour of Knitwell India Pvt. Ltd., located in Derabassi. Knitwell India Private Limited is 'One of India's leading automobile, off- roading and railway construction part  makers' providing parts to OEM's of major tractor industry the company has gained reputation as being one of the most reliable sources for product making in the whole country. The group was shown the various stages of machining, assembly, and quality testing, while also learning about the company’s approach to customer-specific solutions and product customization.

The final stop of the 2-day visit was Bubber Industries Pvt. Ltd., based in Panchkula. Known for its production of high-quality industrial machinery and equipment, Bubber Industries gave the students a hands-on experience of the manufacturing of heavy-duty machinery components. The visit emphasized the integration of technology in the tractor industry, including automated machinery and efficient resource management practices.

 

The 2-day industrial visit was an enriching experience for the students, providing them with exposure to the latest trends and practices in multiple industries. It also helped them bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications, and inspired many to pursue careers in engineering, management, and industrial operations. Throughout the visit, participants had the opportunity to engage with industry experts, ask questions, and learn about the diverse challenges faced by modern industries. The interactions provided valuable career insights and underscored the importance of technical knowledge, innovation, and adaptability in today’s competitive job market.

The industrial visit was coordinated by Dr. Swati Sharma, faculty ICccR & HRM. Dr. Shivani Rana, Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Dr. Neha Gupta and Dr. Swati Sharma from ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu accompanied the students for this industrial visit.
